Covid 19 Update - Date 13/08/20
Kia ora Koutou,
The Committee have had a meeting to discuss the current change in Covid levels.
The Covid-19 Alert level was yesterday raised to Level 2 nationally and Level 3 in Auckland. There is currently a degree of uncertainty given the recency of these changes, and the regional application of alert levels. Accordingly, the Southland Ski Lodge will be closed for the period from Friday 14 August 2020 until Thursday 20 August 2020.
Please remember that the Club will only consider operating at Level 1 and 2, and if the Lodge is open then capacity restrictions are likely to apply. This is a very fluid and uncertain situation and so the Committee will meet again early next week to determine the policy to be applied going forward. If either Otago or Southland move to Level 3 or 4 then the Club will be closed for the duration of that alert level.
We apologise for any inconvenience this causes to those booked into the club and we know there will be some disappointed people who were looking forward to some time up the mountain. However, safety of our members is paramount so we thank you for your understanding and support
We will strive to keep you updated on any changes as soon as they are available. Looking forward to seeing you on the mountain as soon as possible
Southland Ski Club
The Southland Ski Club Inc. was established in 1933 as a non-profit organisation to encourage snow sports.
The club-owned and operated lodge is located conveniently below the base buildings at Coronet Peak, and available to members and non-members, schools, groups and families. The club also operates ski weeks for children during the winter school holidays, where accommodation, meals, lift passes, ski lessons and gear hire are offered in conjunction with NZSki at a very reasonable rate and under full supervision.
